Lip augmentation and modeling
Lip modelling with hyaluronic acid is a minimally invasive procedure that is recommended for patients who are dissatisfied with the shape of their lips.
The procedure allows you to enlarge them, change their contours, as well as firming or moisturizing. It is performed under local anaesthetic and lasts approx. 1 hour. The effect of full and moisturized lips lasts for 6 to 12 months, depending on the preparation used and the individual predisposition of the patient.
Hyaluronic acid – what is it?
Hyaluronic acid is an organic chemical compound of the polysaccharide group and a natural biopolymer. In the human body we find it, among others, in the vitreous body of the eye, lacrimal fluid, intervertebral discs or synovial fluid. However, the highest content of hyaluronic acid, as much as 56%, occurs on skin, providing it with adequate elasticity and hydration. Hyaluronic acid was first isolated from bovine eyeball in 1934. From the beginning, it aroused the interest of scientists and as its properties were discovered, it found wider applications, mainly in medicine (dentistry, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics), and in recent years also in cosmetology and aesthetic medicine. Currently hyaluronic acid is one of the most popular tissue fillers, with which women and men can reduce scars, signs of aging, improve the contours of the face or just model and enlarge the lips.
Lip augmentation – about the procedure
Naturally occurring in the body of every person, hyaluronic acid has a huge impact on the appearance of the lips, so when the body begins to produce less of it with age, the shape of the lips changes noticeably. However, the passage of years does not prevent you from having sensual and shapely lips – the WOW effect is possible thanks to treatments using hyaluronic acid.
What does lip augmentation look like?
The lips are first anesthetized with an anesthetic cream or lidocaine, so that the pain during the procedure is less noticeable. The doctor then inserts hyaluronic acid into the red lip using a syringe with a thin needle or cannula. In order to distribute the product evenly, immediately after the injection, the doctor performs a gentle massage of the lips for a while.
How to prepare for the procedure of lip augmentation?
The procedure of lip augmentation and modeling with hyaluronic acid does not require special preparation on the part of the patient. Before the drug is administered, of course, a medical consultation is held, during which the patient talks with the doctor about the course of the entire procedure, the expected effects and possible contraindications to the procedure. The doctor also selects the most suitable preparation.
Recommendations after lip augmentation or modeling
After administration of hyaluronic acid, the effect is immediate. However, on the day of the procedure and for several days thereafter, there is visible swelling, which may initially make the mouth appear too large. This is a completely natural phenomenon and is an integral part of any treatment with hyaluronic acid. Apart from swelling lasting several days, which can be soothed, for example, with ice packs, the patients usually do not experience any other complaints.
Lip augmentation effects
In aesthetic medicine and cosmetology, hyaluronic acid is used primarily because of its ability to bind large amounts of water. By spraying the lips with hyaluronic acid, we can not only improve their contour and visibly enlarge them, but also harden, moisturize and strengthen the red lip. In addition, hyaluronic acid can also flush away wrinkles that form around the mouth (so-called smoker’s wrinkles). This is all without the artificiality that patients are so afraid of.
Treatment solves problems of:
- small mouth
- narrow mouth
- asymmetrical lips
- wrinkles around the mouth
The price of lip augmentation and modeling depends on the amount of preparation used. In the clinic Kierach Medical Clinic the exact price of the procedure is presented by the doctor during the consultation.
