Laser treatments
Laser light is widely used in aesthetic medicine. With its help, we can get rid of excess hair, scars, discoloration, vascular lesions, as well as unwanted tattoos.
There are many different types of lasers. Each of them has a slightly different effect on the body. Therefore, laser treatments are always selected based on the individual needs of the patient. Laser therapy, although it usually requires several sessions, allows you to get a satisfying and lasting effect. The number of procedures is always decided by the doctor.
Lasers used in aesthetic medicine
In aesthetic medicine, different types of lasers are used – high, medium, low or very low power, continuous or pulsed lasers. The active center of such a laser can also be different, that is, what determines its parameters. We distinguish solid, liquid, gas and semiconductor lasers. Each of them solves a different aesthetic problem.
Laser scar removal
With the help of a laser, we can make such scars as postoperative, post-acne or post-traumatic, become pale and less visible. Gas lasers, including the very popular CO2 fractional laser, are best at removing this type of skin defect. The laser beam penetrates deep into the skin, causing thermal and mechanical damage and thus forcing the skin to self-regenerate. As a result, new collagen and elastin fibers are formed in it, and its appearance is significantly improved.
Laser discoloration removal
Skin discolouration is a discolouration caused by a build-up of pigment in the skin. Their formation is facilitated by frequent exposure to UV radiation, but they can also be congenital. Currently, one of the most effective methods of fighting discoloration is laser therapy. Different types of lasers are used to remove discoloration: ruby type Q-switch, Nd:Yag type Q-switch, Alexandrite type Q-switch, as well as IPL devices.
Laser tattoo removal
A tattoo made under the influence of emotions or made by the hand of an untrained tattoo artist can be removed in many different ways. However, the best results are given by laser treatments using Q-switch ND:YAG laser. The laser emits a very short (nanosecond) pulse, which breaks the dye into much smaller fragments. Then the body, as a result of physiological processes, independently gets rid of it. This laser is also effective in removing permanent makeup.
Laser Hair Removal
Today, cosmetology salons offer a wide range of treatments to get rid of unwanted hair from different parts of the body – legs, armpits, back, bikini area or face. However, the most popular are lasers and IPL (Intense pulse light) devices. They use the phenomenon of selective photothermolysis. The light generated by the laser is captured by the melanin present in the hair, and then converted into thermal energy, which damages the hair and causes it to fall out.
Laser removal of vascular changes
Vascular changes can take various forms – spider veins, erythema or so-called ruby spots. Sometimes they indicate a medical condition, but most often they are only a cosmetic defect. Various types of lasers are used to remove vascular changes: argon, KTP (semiconductor Nd:YAG), neodymium-YAG Nd:YAG or Alexandrite. Laser light of the appropriate wavelength is absorbed by hemoglobin. The energy produced in this way is converted into heat, which damages the vessel wall, which eventually leads to its removal from the body.
After laser treatments
The skin after laser treatment may be reddened, irritated and intensely flaky. However, this is the correct reaction of the body. The recovery period varies depending on the laser used and the individual predisposition of the patient. Nevertheless, each laser treatment should be planned so that you can take a few days off for recovery.
At Kierach Medical Clinic, the exact price for a laser treatment depends on the selected area and individual needs. The price of the procedure is determined by the doctor during the consultation.
