Laser treatments
Laser light is widely used in aesthetic medicine treatments. With its help we can get rid of excessive hair, scars, hyperpigmentation, vascular lesions, as well as unwanted tattooing.
There are many different types of lasers. Each has a slightly different effect on the body. Therefore, laser treatments are always selected based on the individual needs of the patient. Laser therapy, although it usually requires several sessions, allows satisfactory and lasting results. The number of treatments is always decided by the doctor.
Laser treatments – used in aesthetic medicine
Various types of lasers are used in aesthetic medicine – high, medium, low or very low power, lasers working continuously or pulsed. The active center of such a laser, i.e. what determines its parameters, may also be different. There are solid, liquid, gas and semiconductor lasers. Each of them solves a different aesthetic problem.
Laser scar removal
With the help of a laser, we can make post-operative, acne or post-traumatic scars fade and become less visible. Gas lasers, including the very popular fractional CO2 laser, are the best for removing this type of skin defects. The laser beam penetrates deep into the skin, leading to its thermal and mechanical damage, and thus forces the skin to regenerate itself. As a result, new collagen and elastin fibers are formed in it, and its appearance is significantly improved.
Laser removal of dark spots
Skin discoloration is pigmented lesions resulting from the accumulation of pigment in the skin. Their formation is favored by frequent exposure to UV radiation, but they can also be congenital. Currently, laser therapy is one of the most effective methods of fighting discoloration. Various types of lasers are used to remove discoloration: ruby Q-switch, Nd:Yag Q-switch, alexandrite Q-switch, as well as IPL devices.
Laser tattoo removal – Laser treatments
A tattoo made under the influence of emotions or made by the hand of an untrained tattoo artist can be removed in many different ways. However, the best results are achieved by laser treatments using the Q-switch ND:YAG laser. The laser emits a very short (nanosecond) pulse that breaks the dye into much smaller fragments. Then, as a result of physiological processes, the body gets rid of it on its own. This laser is also effective in removing permanent makeup.
Laser hair removal
Today, cosmetology salons offer a whole range of treatments that allow you to get rid of unwanted hair from various parts of the body – legs, armpits, back, bikini area or face. However, lasers and IPL (Intense Pulse Light) devices are the most popular. They use the phenomenon of selective photothermolysis. The light generated by the laser is captured by the melanin present in the hair and then converted into thermal energy, which damages the hair and leads to hair loss.
Laser removal of vascular lesions
Vascular lesions can take many forms – spider veins, erythema or the so-called ruby points. Sometimes they indicate a medical condition, but most often they are only a cosmetic defect. Various types of lasers are used to remove vascular lesions: argon, KTP (semiconductor Nd:YAG), neodymium-yag Nd:YAG or alexandrite. Laser light of the appropriate wavelength is absorbed by hemoglobin. The energy generated in this way is converted into heat, which damages the vessel wall, which over time results in its removal from the body.
After laser treatments
After laser treatment, the skin may be red, irritated and exfoliate intensely. However, this is a normal reaction of the body. The recovery period varies depending on the laser used and the patient’s individual predispositions. Nevertheless, each laser treatment should be planned in such a way that you can take a few days off to regenerate.
At Kierach Medical Clinic, the exact price for a laser treatment depends on the selected area and individual need. The price of the treatment is determined by the doctor during the consultation.
