The area to be treated is first anesthetized with an anesthetic cream. Then the doctor injects the selected area with hyaluronic acid using a thin needle or cannula. The treatment takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the area treated. Wrinkle correction with hyaluronic acid does not require convalescence. However, because hyaluronic acid needs time to integrate into the tissue, for a period of about 2 weeks, a slight swelling may persist in the treated area.
