Photorejuvenation
Laser photorejuvenation is one of the safest and least invasive methods of skin rejuvenation.
This treatment is especially recommended for those who want to slow down the aging process of the skin and those who have problems with vascular lesions, rosacea, enlarged pores, erythema or sun discoloration. A major advantage of this method is that it can be performed on any part of the body.
Photorejuvenation – what is it?
Photorejuvenation proceeds fairly quickly. Depending on the area of the body where the treatment is performed, it usually takes about 5 – 30 minutes. During the irradiation, the patient feels a gentle warmth, sometimes a slight burning sensation on the skin. During the procedure, the skin is irradiated with low energy density light from a laser, which penetrates deep into the skin. Laser heats up the skin and stimulates it to remodel. The laser light with which the procedure is performed renews skin tissues and stimulates them to produce new collagen fibers. This method allows to narrow pores, shallow wrinkles and smooth, brighten and firm the skin. A few days or so after the procedure, vascular lesions, hyperpigmentation and age spots are removed.
Photorejuvenation – for whom?
The main indications for the procedure are:
- reduced skin firmness
- wrinkles and furrows
- sagging oval face
- skin flaccidity
- After-sun discoloration (including freckles)
- enlarged pores
- seborrhea
- scars, including acne scars
- Cracked, visible vessels, so-called “spider veins”
- rosacea
- erythema
- bags and dark circles under the eyes
- drooping eyelid
Recommendations before the procedure
No alcohol should be consumed 24 hours before photorejuvenation. At least 14 days before the procedure, you should not use cosmetics with fruit acids, retinol, mechanical peels, as well as sunbathing, tanning beds or use self-tanners.
Recommendations after the procedure
After the treatment, you should not sunbathe for at least 2 weeks. In the summer, you need to apply a cream with a high UV filter to the treated skin area. This is especially important if you have a dark complexion that tends to develop hyperpigmentation.
Effects of the treatment
With laser skin photorejuvenation, excellent results can be achieved after just one treatment, although in most cases a series of treatments is recommended. Photorejuvenation makes wrinkles and other skin imperfections diminish dramatically. The skin is rejuvenated and revitalized, regaining a radiant and attractive appearance. The effects of the treatment are long-term. Photorejuvenation helps improve skin density and visibly rejuvenate the skin. Collagen production is then activated, which allows the skin to become thicker and firmer. As we age, the amount of collagen decreases, so increasing its production is key to regaining a radiant, youthful appearance.
