Carboxytherapy
CO2 therapy is a multipurpose treatment that uses the action of carbon dioxide. Depending on the effect we want to achieve, it involves intradermal or subcutaneous, precise application of controlled doses of medical carbon dioxide by injection (puncture).
Co2 therapy is dedicated to various body parts and aesthetic problems. As the name suggests, the treatment uses the beneficial effects of carbon dioxide. It helps effectively improve the appearance of the entire body, reduce baldness, reduce the appearance of stretch marks, cellulite, wrinkles or bags under the eyes. Carboxytherapy is used in androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata, as it effectively helps fight excessive hair loss. It is also excellent in the treatment of psoriasis. The treatment is also used for preventive purposes to nourish weak, damaged hair.
Carboxytherapy – what is it?
Carboxytherapy involves injecting carbon dioxide under the skin, which dilates blood vessels. As a result, the cells become oxygenated and better nourished. The treatment itself also stimulates the process of their renewal and collagen production. During carboxytherapy, the process of lipolysis occurs, i.e. the breakdown of fat – thanks to this, cellulite is significantly reduced. Due to the dilation of blood vessels, carboxytherapy turns out to be extremely effective when applied both to the face and to other parts of the body, including the scalp.
Carboxytherapy – for whom?
CO2 therapy is extremely versatile in aesthetic medicine. All thanks to the fact that carbon dioxide, which disperses in tissues, is able to initiate many changes, contributing to the formation of various aesthetic defects. Indications for the procedure include, among others:
- cellulite
- scars, including acne
- Stretch marks
- wrinkles and furrows
- dark circles and bags under the eyes
- Uneven skin tone
- Puffiness
- drooping eyelids
- double chin
- circulatory disorders
- loss of firmness, including sagging after pregnancy
- excess body fat
- excessive hair loss
- Psoriasis.
Recommendations before the procedure
The CO2 therapy treatment does not require any special preparation. It is worth remembering not to take aspirin and other blood clotting agents for 48 hours before the procedure.
Recommendations after the procedure
For 4 hours after carboxytherapy, it is not recommended to bathe, and for a day after the treatment, sunbathing, sauna and solarium should be refrained from. Within 2 days, you should also not massage the areas that have undergone therapy.
Effects of Carboxytherapy
The effects vary depending on the purpose for which the treatment is performed. Stretch marks undergoing carboxytherapy do not return to their original state later. Cellulite or locally accumulated adipose tissue is significantly reduced, the durability of which depends on the later lifestyle and compliance with post-treatment recommendations. In many cases, it is recommended to perform a series of booster treatments, usually once a quarter.
