Liposuction
Liposuction is a plastic surgery procedure that involves body contouring. It involves the local removal of unwanted fatty tissue from areas where it tends to be deposited, most commonly the face, arms, abdomen, thighs, buttocks and hips. The main goal of liposuction is to give the figure the right proportions.
Liposuction can be used alone or in combination with other plastic surgery procedures (such as breast augmentation with one’s own fat). Liposuction is used for people who have a problem with excess body fat, which does not disappear under the influence of a proper diet and exercise. The procedure is particularly popular with patients who, despite having a normal body weight, are gaining weight unevenly, which causes complexes due to figure disproportion.
Liposuction – what is it?
Surgery is performed with metal cannulas, under local, regional or general anesthesia. The aim of the treatment is primarily to reduce the thickness of subcutaneous fat. Treatment involves inserting a tool under the skin that relaxes the entire tissue and breaks down the cells, which sucks in the entire mass. The treatment time is usually 1 – 2 hours. The classic surgery method uses the phenomenon of vacuum, which leads to the removal of adipose tissue.
Liposuction – for whom?
Liposuction is especially recommended for women after pregnancy who have accumulated fat in the abdominal and hip area, and for men struggling with gynecomastia. The treatment can be used by anyone who is dissatisfied with the location of fat tissue on their body. However, it is worth remembering that liposuction is not a slimming procedure, but a body shaping procedure.
Recommendations before the procedure
For a period of 3 weeks before the planned procedure, medications that reduce blood clotting and hormonal drugs should be discontinued. For at least a week, the procedure should stop smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol.
Recommendations after the procedure
After the procedure, it is recommended to wear special compression underwear for a period of 4-6 weeks. For 3-4 weeks after the procedure, physical exercise is not recommended. Increase the effort gradually. You should not sunbathe, expose your skin to the sun or use a tanning bed for about 3 weeks.
Effects of the treatment
The liposuction procedure is aimed at shaping the figure. It reduces the amount of fat tissue in specific areas and ensures firmness and elasticity of the skin.
