Balding negatively influences self-confidence and often is a source of multiple worries. After all, healthy and dense hair constitutes an attribute of attractiveness and is linked to youth and vital capacities. A carefully selected hairstyle makes you look younger and positively influences self-esteem. I thus understand the embarrassment that a lack of hair might evoke in young people. Every day I’m doing my best to make my patients aware that balding issues have no age limit and can affect anybody.
FUE hair transplant
Patients often decide on a hair transplant to keep or to recover youthful charm. Each balding case necessitates an individual consultation with a specialist. The sooner you consult a specialist, the more chances for successful pharmacological treatment. Unfortunately, in many cases it is too late for such methods and a hair transplant proves the best possible solution. Modern transplants differ from the procedures performed in the past. Formerly, doctors used the FUT method, which entailed many side effects such as linear scars at the back of the head. Nowadays, follicles are mostly transplanted with the FUE method that revolutionized cosmetic medicine. Not only does FUE leave no linear scars at all, but it also constitutes a painless and quick solution. Even the young and active can go for such a hair transplant as the recovery period is only 5-7 days, which means that you can undergo the treatment even during a short holiday and return back to work in good condition.
The balding gene
Multiple factors can influence hair loss including genetic tendencies. Balding issues are often passed down from one generation to another and demonstrate at a fairly young age, thus patients wishing to avoid a receding hairline should not delay a consultation with a specialist. The “masculine type” balding gene causes progressing hair loss. This type of balding often starts at the top of the head or causes a receding hairline, only to lead to advanced hair loss all over the head at a very advanced stage. Areas at the back and side of the head usually remain resistant to DHT and are medically considered donor areas, from where the surgeon transfers follicles to the loss areas. The general balding pattern is inherited and the whole process can start as early as in your twenties and proceed until the age of 50. Treatment should start as soon as possible because it is difficult to predict the way balding proceeds.
Natural and thick hair
A hair transplant is a perfect method for battling masculine-type balding and can be performed also in young patients. For the procedure to be successful, it should be run by an experienced practitioner who is able to foresee future hair loss. Thanks to his or her skills and experience, the hair growing back will look natural and the hairline will be adapted to the patient’s age.
